Quiet: Your WOW Card of the Week Message

Quiet

Shh…I’m Be-ing…

QUIET
Shhh...I’m being.

Definition: hush, silent, tranquility
Other: stillness, calm
Opposite: noise, chaotic, din

I’m working (not the best terminology here) on being a better BE-er. I’ve got the doing part down pat…to a science. You probably have too.   Perhaps, you are also desiring the need to just BE, and be quiet.

We are human be-ings, not human do-ings. Especially these days during so much uncertainty, unrest and chaos, the need for being and quiet is coveted.   So what does quiet feel like in your body?

Peace in my heart.

Peace in my mind.

Peace in my spirit.

Conversely, is it possible to be quiet and stressed? Yes, sirree. Think about when you may have been so mad, hurt, or shocked that you were unable to formulate or utter a response. Peace is hard to find at that moment. It is not the sensation of calm or being that this message of quiet is inviting us to consider.

I love my morning quiet time. It is the way for me to set the tone for the best day possible. I even wrote about its importance in my chapter in The Ultimate Guide to Self-Healing, Volume 3, titled Daily Rituals: Conjuring Up a Magical Life Using Intention, published on Oct. 1, 2020.

I also love the gift of Sunday morning and the quiet it provides. I enjoy getting up early before the rest of the world is stirring to enjoy the peace and tranquility of this special time.

“Sometimes it’s best to stay quiet. The silence can speak volumes without ever saying a word.” Anonymous

So, what are some ways to get quiet and just be?

·       Take 3 deep breaths, hold, release…repeat 3 times

·       Listen to soothing music

·       Be out in nature

·       Spend time with animals or your pets

·       Meditate

·       Rest

·       Garden

·       Create

·       Color

·       Close your eyes and just be for a few minutes

·       Bathe

·       Watch a candle or flame

·       Cloudwatch or stargaze

·       Enjoy a favorite yoga pose

I am going to take this message to heart this week and remember the importance of being quiet and just being. I will focus on intentional quiet time to nurture my body, mind, and spirit by just being. Perhaps, you’d like to join in.   We’d love to hear about your experiences of being quiet and being…and how this message resonated with you, dear heart.

Living life better through the gift of quiet and being can lead to living life out loud in all your glory.

Find the Good,

Becky and Janette
